The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm.  The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

The Oakland Mills Nature Center is open Saturday mornings from 9 am to noon. Weekday appointments can be made by call 319-986-5067.

The New London VFW has a catfish and chicken dinner from 5 to 7:30 pm.  Catfish is $9.50, chicken $8 and all white chicken is $9. Dinner includes a roll and choice of two of: french fries, baked beans and coleslaw.
