The Bonaparte Pottery & Artisan Market will host a Party at the Pottery today from 4:30-8:30 p.m. The event will feature handmade pottery, local artisans, artist demonstrations, a historic presentation, live music, and activities for the whole family at the Market at 411 1st Street in Bonaparte. Artist demonstrations begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by a free will donation supper from 5 to 7 p.m. A historic presentation will take place at 6 p.m., followed by Music Under the Shade Trees from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The event will also include a hands-on art project for kids. Come enjoy an evening of food, music, creativity and fun while supporting local artisans in Bonaparte.
Salem, Iowa is celebrating 143 years of small-town pride with Salem Old Settlers this weekend! You will find food, fun, and community! Today’s events are underway from 6a-8a with a pancake breakfast, a fun run/walk for kids and adults. and the parade starts at 10:3oam! Fields of Fun Inflatables will start at 11am, the pedal pull, and Linc & the Drifters will be performing live for the street dance from 9p-midnight! The New London Lions Club is hosting their Red Barn Breakfast Fundraiser from 7am – 11am at 206 Main Street in Mt. Pleasant. The Lions Club will be serving biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage links, hashbrown patties, and a beverage. All proceeds from the breakfast support local service projects. The Red Barn Breakfast will also be served tomorrow morning from 7am – 11am!
The Swedesburg Lutheran Church annual garage sale is today from 8am-5pm and on Saturday from 8am-1pm. Most items are fifty cents and include toys, clothes, household items, books, plants, artwork, and furniture. The $2 a bag sale is on Saturday from 11am – 1pm.
