The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm.  The site is located behind Saunders Park at the intersection of Hoaglin Drive and Yocum Lane.

The New London Lassies and New London Pioneers will be selling sweet corn in the New London Park starting at 8:30 am.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 8:30 am to 11 am and is located in McMillan Park under Wright Pavilion.

This is the final weekend to visit the wedding dress exhibit on display at the Dover Museum in New London.  The museum is located on Main Street.  It is handicap accessible, climate controlled and admission is free. The museum is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 pm.

Henry County Heritage Trust presents “Iowa Civil War Images” by Michael Huston at 2 pm at the museum at 403 West Madison in Mount Pleasant. There will be refreshments.

THE BIRMINGHAM LIONS CLUB WILL HAVE THERE ANNUAL ICE CREAM SOCIAL STARTING AT 5PM. HOMEMADE ICE CREAM, SANDWICHES,DESERT, BEVERAGE,  FOR A FREE WILL OFFERING .

Tuesday, August 2^nd the Henry County Treasurer’s Office will be closed.  Staff will be attending Iowa Department of Transportation Driver License and Motor Vehicle Training.  The office will be open for business at 8:00 AM Wednesday, August 3^rd.
