The Nature Center at the Oakland Mills Park will not be open Saturday, August 20 due to an electrical issue. It’s hoped the problem will be fixed so the Center can be open August 27.

Walk-up registration begins at 7 am in the Keosauqua City Park for the first day of Bike Van Buren. There is a primary route along with alternate routes, all beginning and ending at the Keosauqua City Park.

The Mt. Pleasant compost site is open from 8 am to 5 pm.  The site is located behind Saunders Park.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market will be held from 8:30 am to 11 am in the Orschelan parking lot on North Grand Avenue. Please note this change is in affect until September 10 when the Market returns to McMillan Park after Old Threshers.

Mt. Pleasant Historic Preservation Commission is having a garage sale from 9am to 1pm. at 500 W Monroe. There will be old doors & windows and lots of misc.

The Old Threshers Summer Theatre presents the Neil and Caroline Schaffner play, “The Old Grouch” at 7:30 pm at the Theatre Museum on the north edge of the Old Threshers campground. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 11 and under. Call 319-385-8937 or 319-385-9432 for more information or to purchase tickets. There is a show Sunday at 2:30 pm. The play will also be performed during the 2022 Reunion. September 1, 2, 3, 4 at 5:30pm.
