The Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis Breakfast runs from 6 to 10:15 am during the Greater Iowa Swap Meet.  The meal is at the Wright Family Pavillion at McMillan Park.  It features gourmet unlimited pancakes and coffee.  It includes sausage patty, eggs, milk or juice.  Adults are $7, kids 5 to 12 are $3.

The Greater Iowa Swap Meet and Flea Market is at McMillan Park in Mount Pleasant today.  There is free admission and parking.

Due to the Swap Meet using Wright Pavilion for vendors, the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market will be held in the 4H show ring right  inside the Locust Street gate in McMillan Park. Market hours are 8:30 am to 11 am.

The Mt. Pleasant Historical Preservation will have their salvage sale open from 9 am to noon and Second Baptist Church on West Saunders Street in Mount Pleasant.

The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm.  The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

Anyone who wants to help put up the flags for Memorial Day on the Henry County Court House lawn is welcome beginning at 8 am.

The Oakland Mills Nature Center is open Saturday mornings from 9 am to noon. Weekday appointments can be made by call 319-986-5067.

The Mount Pleasant Central Business District is busy….The Farmhouse Central Vintage Market is set up in Central Park from 9 am to 3 pm. Join Main Street for Wings in the Spring from 11am to 1pm. Backyard warriors will be grilling up wings and pork. while Whiskey Friends bring the music. Bring your family and friends and enjoy.

The Bonaparte Spring Festival Sales and Citywide garage sales are taking place today thru Sunday. The garage sales start at 8 am and the shops are open 9 am to 5 pm.  All the shops are open, there will be a large selection of vendors and city-wide garage sales thru out the town. And there will be food available from a food truck.

The Bentonsport Flea Market and Craft Show is today and tomorrow featuring a variety of vendors, music, crafts, antiques, food blacksmithing and other demonstrations all weekend from 10 am to 5 pm each day in Riverside Park.

Mount Pleasant City offices are closed Monday, May 31.  Garbage collection will be one day later that week.
