This is free fishing weekend in Iowa. A fishing license is not needed today or Sunday.
There is an open house in Winfield at the school from 8 am to noon to give community members a chance to find out more about options for the future of the district’s facilities.
The Winfield City Wide Garage Sales are taking place again today.
Denmark Heritage Days in Denmark, Iowa continues with Breakfast at the Fire Station, town wide yards sales, custom car and pickup show, sidewalk chalk drawing contest, parade, auction, Bill Riley Talent search, pork loin meal, live music and more!
The Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church’s Social Ministry Committee’s garage sale will be today at the Swedesburg Parish Hall, 201 Academy Avenue, Swedesburg. The sale will be from 8 to 2.
The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm. The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.
Starting at the Moose in Mt. Pleasant “Thank You Is NOT Enough” will be having their 5th Annual Motorcycle Ride and Benefit but all street legal vehicles are welcome. Registration begins at 8:30am. Kickstands up at 10:30 am and arrive back at the Moose around 4pm. There will be a silent auction, quilts of Valor, Gun raffle draw, a Free Will Donation Supper and a Live Auction. Open to the public. $15.00 for a single rider and then $5.00 extra for passenger. Same for vehicles. Most monies go to CVMA 39-5. All monies go to help our Veterans.
The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 8:30 am to 11 am at McMillan Park in the Wright Pavilion.
The Oakland Mills Nature Center is open Saturday mornings from 9 am to noon. Weekday appointments can be made by call 319-986-5067.
ABATE #18 Memorial Ride starts with signup at TS 18 in Oquawka, IL from 10 to noon. Cost is $10 for members, $12 for non-members. The last stop is at Tena’s in Fort Madison. Choose your own stops to support businesses.
The Birmingham Volunteer Fire Dept will hold its annual homecoming dinner starting at 5 pm. Hot roast beef/mashed potatoes/gravy green beans/beverage and dessert. Proceeds will go for protective gear. The Birmingham Lions Club will serve biscuits and gravy to start the day off . And then on Sunday there will be a breakfast buffet all you care to eat only $6.00. All held in the park shelter.
