The Henry County Farm Bureau will be hosting their 2nd Annual Supermarket Sweep Competition at the Mt. Pleasant Hy-Vee from 3 pm to 5 pm. They are encouraging local business to round up a team of 3 to try and collect $250 (either over or under) worth of groceries in five minutes with all the proceeds going to the Fellowship Cup. The only cost to participate is what your team collects in groceries. A trophy will be given to the winning team and awards will also be given to the “Greatest Grabber” and “Best Decorated Cart.” Refreshments and snacks will be provided. Henry County Health Center’s Diabetes Education is hosting a CGM Support Group, from 2-3 p.m., Suite 25. Find support and learn the latest regarding your continuous glucose monitor.

The next hike a park is scheduled at Big Hollow Recreation Area from 4-5pm. Participants should meet at the 300 meter shooting range parking lot. These hikes are open to everyone and are completely free to join. There’s no need to sign up; just come to the park prepared to hike between 1 to 4 miles. If you’re interested in carpooling, give us a call at the nature center.  Each hike will be led by experienced naturalists who will guide you through the park and answer any questions you might have.
