Today is curbside recycling pickup day for residents in Mount Pleasant who live south of Washington Street. Residents are reminded to set their green recycling bins at the curb for collection. Accepted items include paper, cardboard, plastic containers, metal cans, and glass. A green recycling bin is required to participate in curbside pickup and can be purchased at City Hall.

The Mt. Pleasant School District Music Department is featuring the 2nd grade and 5th grade choral concert at Chapel Auditorium on Central Campus.  Second graders perform at 6pm and the 5 grade vocalists perform at 7pm  This concert is free and open to the public.

Main Street Mt. Pleasant has announced fun events starting with “Wine About Winter” from 5pm – 7pm today at downtown participating retailers.  Enjoy some shopping, and shake off the winter blues!

The Winfield-Mt. Union School District is holding a preschool & Kindergarten registration and open house from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.  Items to bring for the students include a birth certificate, preschool packet, social security card, and immunizations.

Holy Trinity Catholic Schools is hosting a Kindergarten Parent Information Night starting at 7pm at the elementary school in West Point.  This event is for families with children entering Kindergarten for the 2026/27 school year.  The program includes an overview of what Holy Trinity has to offer as a K-12 system.  Kindergarten Round-Up is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25th.  Please contact Kim Goetz at 319-372-2038 for more information.
