Henry County Engineers Office announces a culvert replacement project on Ash Avenue (W-46), south of Hillsboro. The road will be closed starting today for approximately 2 months, weather permitting. The Mount Pleasant City Compost site is open Wednesdays from 1 pm to 6 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm. The site is located behind Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

The Mount Pleasant Wednesday Farmers Market is held at Wright Pavilion in McMillan Park from 4 to 6 pm.

The Mount Pleasant Children’s Discovery Center is open from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.  The Center’s entrance is on the east side of the Mount Pleasant Public Library Civic Center on East Monroe Street.

The Henry County Health Center Finance Division Team will host a Taco Dinner from 5-7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant. The public is invited to attend. The meal will include your choice of a hard or soft shell taco or taco salad, a side, dessert and drink. Dine in or take out is available. The First Presbyterian Church is located at 902 S. Walnut Street in Mount Pleasant. The meal is a free will offering with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF) to help Iowa hospital employees who were recently impacted by flooding and tornadoes.
