Girls’ Prep Basketball: Keokuk Downs Mount Pleasant, Other Area Finals

Keokuk 73, Mount Pleasant 40

Keokuk lead 34-13 at halftime as the Chiefs rolled to a 73-40 win over Mount Pleasant last night.

The Panthers tried to rally in the third quarter before Keokuk used an 18-10 in the fourth to put the game on ice.

The win moved the Chiefs to 2-3.

Mount Pleasant dropped to 1-5.

They’ll look to get back into the win column on Monday night when they travel to Benton Community for a nonconference tilt.

Tip is set for 7:00p.m.

Central Lee 40, Winfield-Mount Union 38 

Jobey Malone had 16 points to lead all scorers, but it was Central Lee coming out on top with a 40-38 win over Winfield-Mount Union in a Super Conference thriller.

Alivia Myhre lead Central Lee with 14 points, while Mya Lampe chipped in with 11.

The loss was Winfield’s first of the season, they’re now 6-1.

Central Lee upped their ledger to 4-1.

WACO 48, Cardinal 38 

WACO’s strong fourth quarter helped guide the Warriors past Cardinal last night, 48-38.

The Warriors edged the Comets 16-11 in the fourth quarter after Cardinal put together a 10-4 in the third quarter to draw within five.

Cynthia Albert paced Cardinal with 10 points.

WACO moved to 3-2.

Van Buren County 49, New London 29 

Annabelle Cormier dropped 17 points as the the Warriors earned win number one on their year, 49-29 over New London.

The Tigers fell to 0-8.

Notre Dame 66, Danville 44 

Gabby Deery and Abby Korschgen each scored 12 points as No. 7 (1A) Notre Dame rolled to a 66-44 win over Danville last night.

Reagan Engberg and Lauren Krieger scored nine points apiece for the Nikes, who remained unbeaten at 6-0.

They’re 4-0 in conference play.

Makenzie Morris led Danville with 10 points.
