Girls’ Prep Basketball: Mediapolis Survives Instant Classic With W-MU; Other Pre Finals

No. 10 (2A) Mediapolis 40, Winfield-Mount Union 39

10th ranked Mediapolis forced overtime using a 13-9 run to tie the game, then held on for a one-point win over Winfield-Mount Union 40-39 last night.

Hallie Mohr led all scorers with 19 points and 15 rebounds, while Payton Bush had 13 points.

Bradie Buffington paced Winfield-Mount Union with 14 — Jobey Malone added 13.

Mediapolis stayed perfect, the Bullettes are now 16-0. They’ll get a bout with Mount Pleasant on Saturday.

Winfield-Mount Union is now 14-3, they’ll get a Super Conference clash Friday with Wapello.

West Burlington 82, New London 36

West Burlington led 49-16 at halftime and never looked back as the Falcons put it in automatic for an 82-36 win over New London last night.

Abbey Bence had a game-high 28 points while Kenna Marlow poured in 19 points. Taryn Havener added 12.

New London was led by Ashlyn McSorley, who finished with eight points. Sophie Malott ended with seven.

West Burlington is now 11-5.

New London slumped to 0-18.

Danville 51, Holy Trinity 44

Danville rallied in the second half for a seven-point, 51-44 over Holy Trinity last night.

Jaeda Molle led the Bears with 17 points — Ava Smith scored nine for Danville.

The Bears are now 6-10 and they’ll look to win back-to-back games when they entertain New London, Friday night.

Holy Trinity slipped to 10-7 — they get a tough Friday night affair with Central Lee.
