On Saturday August 21st , Troopers from District 13 will be working enforcement specifically addressing impaired drivers throughout southeast Iowa. This will be conducted in the ongoing effort to lower Iowa’s traffic fatalities to Below 300 for 2021. As of 8-19-21, Iowa has seen 197 traffic fatalities with 45% of those unbelted. It is anticipated that travelers will be taking last minute vacations before school starts for many next week, in addition to those that may be visiting the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines for the conclusion on Sunday.
