Jeffery L. Shoemaker, Jr., 52, of Hillsboro and formerly of Davenport, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at his home in Hillsboro.
Jeff was born on May 22, 1969, in Davenport, the son of Jeffery L. and Dawn L. (Waddell) Shoemaker, Sr. He was united in marriage to Lisa Hansen on April 5, 2007, in Davenport. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and looking for deer sheds. He played baseball for 12 years for the Hawkeye Tap Baseball Team of Davenport. Jeff worked for Local 91 Sheet Metal of Rock Island for 25 years.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Lisa, of Hillsboro, Iowa, his father and step-mother Jeffrey L. (Diane) Shoemaker, Sr. of Davenport, his son, Logan Shoemaker and one niece Kaitlynn (Logan) Fereau and their son, Camden of Laurel, Iowa, his step-father, Joseph Jimenez, his mother-in-law, Linda Lane, 4 step-children, Darren, Deserai, Stephanie and Ryan, along with 6 step-grandchildren, Kohl, Lancer, Melodi, Gracie, Rhya and Sebastian, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dawn Shoemaker and his sister, Lisa Shoemaker.
A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene at 1010 North Clark Street in Davenport, Iowa. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
