Several organizations serving Lee County are receiving funding through the Keokuk Area Community Foundation’s 2026 Eichacker-Lofton Grant Fund.
The foundation awarded more than $172,000 to 27 organizations in Lee County, Iowa; Hancock County, Illinois; and Clark County, Missouri.
Local projects include new air packs for Montrose Fire Rescue, a vision-screening camera for the Fort Madison Lions Club and a hands-on emergency simulator for the Lee County 911 Education Association.
Funding will also help the Food Bank of Iowa provide nutritious food to Lee County children, support meals and pantry services through God’s Way Christian Center and assist the Domestic Violence Intervention Program with outreach to survivors.
Other grants will support youth activities, addiction-recovery services, historic preservation, park improvements, food pantries and building repairs throughout the greater Keokuk area. Toys for Tots and the United Way of the Great River Region will also receive funding for holiday gifts and back-to-school supplies.
The Eichacker-Lofton Grant Fund honors George Eichacker and Richard Lofton, who helped establish the Keokuk Area Community Foundation.
