Des Moines — Drake men’s basketball freshman swingman Tucker DeVries was selected as Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced yesterday.
DeVries helped the Bulldogs to a pair of victories this past week over Illinois State and Loyola with an average of 15.5 points per game.
Drake will play at Indiana State tonight before welcoming in in-state rival UNI to the Knapp Center on Saturday.
The Bulldogs are 16-6 this year and 7-2 in MVC play.
