Mitchell L. “Mike” Lowe, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Ottumwa and Pella, died Monday, January 31, 2022 in the Hospice of Unity Point/St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.

Mitchell Lee “Mike” Lowe was born October 31, 1952 in Ottumwa. He was the son of Henry Luther and Margaret Lucille (Steele) Lowe.
Mike was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army.
On February 14, 2005 in Knoxville, IA, Mike was united in marriage to Sheryl Marie Moore.
Mike worked for the John Deere Company in Waterloo, IA. For several years, Mike was a security guard for Iowa Wesleyan University.
In his spare time, Mike was a gifted artist. Mike held a deep passion and love for motorcycles and 4-wheelers. He treasured his drag racing car “Red”, which he kept immaculately polished. He raced “Red” often at the drag strip in Eddyville. Also in Eddyville, Mike held the title of “Burnout King”.
Those thankful for sharing in Mike’s life include his wife, Sheryl Moore of Mt. Pleasant; 3 children and their spouses – Justin & Crystal McDonald of Houghton, Krista & Daniel McAllister of Fairfield and Jamie & Matthew Krogmeier of Mt. Pleasant, and 8 grandchildren – Gabriella, Gracelyn, Mayrose, Rockwell and Evanora McAllister, Lawson and Addyson Krogmeier and Korbyn McDonald.
Mike’s parents precede him in death.
