MP Marching Band Invite Results

The Mount Pleasant Marching Band Invitational was held Saturday night and featured 20 high school bands and 1,705 musicians.

In Class 1A/2A, Tipton took top honors followed by Central Lee, Wapello, Cardinal and Mediapolis.  Central Lee won caption awards for Best Color Guard and Best Drum Major while Tipton won the honors of Best Drumline and Best Horn Line.

In Class 3A, Center Point-Urbana placed first followed by Benton Community, Fort Madison, Williamsburg, West Liberty, Keokuk and Washington. Benton Community won caption awards for Best Drum Major, Best Color Guard and Best Drumline. The Best Horn Line award went to Center Point-Urbana.

In Class 4A, Davenport Central took first place followed by Quincy, Clinton, Muscatine, Western Dubuque and Ottumwa. Davenport Central won caption awards for Best Drum Major, Best Drumline and Best Horn Line with Quincy winning Best Color Guard.

The Best Represented Band Award went to Benton Community who had the most fans in attendance. The Sweepstakes Award, given to the band with the highest combined score from the Mount Pleasant contest and the Fort Madison Band Classic held earlier in the day went to Davenport Central.
