In attendance were Commissioners Aaron Kimzey, Mary Savage, Caroline Lehman, Judy Rawson, Larry D. Roth, Joel Garretson and guests Madison Pullis and Pat White. Madison Pullis was introduced and welcomed as the new Director of the Harlan-Lincoln House Museum. A grant was recently submitted to the State Historical Society for completion of the Wayland properties to the National Register of Historic Places. The Commission will be notified of it’s approval in late June. Sales of the new book “The Rural Schools of Henry County” have been brisk and copies can be purchased for $35 at the auditor’s office and any of the small museums in the county. The Commission is promoting the book during May which is Preservation Month. Several Commissioners have registered for the annual Iowa Preservation Summit held virtually this year June 3-5. June is also Museum Month and several museums are scheduling special activities. The next meeting will be Wednesday June 16.
