The National Weather Service is predicting an extended period of hot and humid conditions for next week. Temperatures in the 90s and heat indexes in the mid to upper 90s can be expected through at least the middle of next week.
Heat can escalate quickly and here are some tips: never leave people or pets in a closed car, drink plenty of water, even if you are not thirsty, wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing, spend time in air conditioning and in the shade.
The National Weather Service is predicting record warm low temps on Monday and Tuesday. Rain chances move into the forecast mid-week and that may bring some relief to the heat before the end of the week.
So, if you have outdoor plans for Father’s Day, be ready for hot and humid conditions!
