A Lee County man was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday, after being found guilty of sexual abuse and incest.
Jannusch
39-year-old Daniel Jannusch of Donnelson was found guilty in August by a jury. He had been a Lee County EMT for 10 years. In October 2023, the state’s Bureau of Emergency Medical and Trauma Services issued an emergency order suspending Jannusch’s paramedic license on the grounds that he posed “an immediate danger to the public health, safety, and welfare.”
Police allege that the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services was investigating a case last August when the agency discovered Jannusch had “told several persons about an incident involving a minor child.”
The 10-year-old victim was interviewed, and according to police, Jannusch committed unspeakable acts. He also admitted to coworkers that the incident happened. Parole won’t come for atleast 17 and a half years, and he will also have to register as a sex offender for his lifetime.
