Functional Exercise Tomorrow Morning in Mount Pleasant – Just a Drill

Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19th, you may see an increase of law enforcement and first responders in Mount Pleasant. Henry County Emergency Management will be joined by Des Moines County as they will be conducting a “functional exercise” with the TC Energy group. The reason being is that the gas pipeline station is on the Henry/Des Moines County Road.

This drill will see some sort of emergency take place, such as a gas leak. All agencies involved with this situation will then operate as if the scenario is in fact real. This is a great way to ensure that our first responders are prepared for whatever situation and proves to be effective training.

This drill is scheduled to take place from 8:00am-12:00pm. Again, this is only a drill.
