The Panther Marching Band was among 17 bands from an eight county area of District 8 to perform for a rating in the Iowa High School Music Association’s Marching Band Festival at Brady Street Stadium in Davenport on Saturday. Mount Pleasant received it’s 34th #1 rating in a row! Southeast Iowa was well represented….Central Lee, Ft. Madison, Mediapolis, Wapello and Keokuk all received #1 ratings.
The north half of Iowa had the contest last weekend and the southern half this Saturday. The state is divided into 8 districts, with the southern 4 going this Saturday. Not all schools choose to participate in the State Festival.
