KILJ — Abby Blint ran 21:09 for first place, helping lead the Panther girls’ cross country team at the Washington Invite last night.
Blint won the race by over one minute.
Freshman Alexis Wagner continued building on a strong first year campaign, finishing ninth.
Jenna Gilmore, Jayden Housh and Ella McNamee were the final three scorers for Mount Pleasant.
They’ll be off until next Monday when they head to Hillcrest Academy.
On the boys’ side of things, the Panthers’ finished fourth in the large school division.
Nate McWilliams was Mount Pleasant’s top finisher.
McWilliams ended the race 8th overall running 18:23:08.
Gabe Feldmann finished 12th, while Christian Bracht-Wagner went 19:17 for 14th.
Washington’s Lance Sobaski was the meet medalist, churning in a 16:52.97.
The Demons won the event and were followed up by Fort Madison and Fairfield in the top-three.
Meanwhile in Williamsburg, 2A’s No. 1 Danville-New London rolled to yet another team championship, taking down four other ranked programs.
The Bears outlasted No. 7 (3A) Solon for the win.
Ty Carr and Alexander Julian were the clubhouse leaders for the Bears, winding up in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Rylan Martin went 18:06.03 for 14th.
Seth Bailey finished 16th.
The Danville-New London girls’ finished 6th overall, they were led by Cassidy Yaley.
