Fairfield — The Mount Pleasant girls’ and boys’ cross country teams are back on the course this evening, with their first taste of conference action when they travel to the Fairfield Invitational.
The Panther girls’ are coming a fifth place finish overall at the Pella Invite, while the Panther boys’ finished sixth in the large school division there.
Panther girls’ head coach Lyle Murray says his team wants to compete again for the conference crown.
“We always like to say that we’re going to compete for conference. That’s our goal. That’s what we expect.”
“We know it’s going to be hard” Murray said.
Racing for the varsity girls’ will begin at approximately 5:50 p.m. with the boys’ racing at 6:20 p.m.
The race will be held at Waterworks Park in Fairfield.
