Prep Softball: Winfield-Highland to Meet Again Tonight

By: Nathan Bloechl — sports@kilj.com

Winfield — The Winfield and Highland softball teams will play today in an unprecedented suspended game after rain and strong winds wiped away this weekend’s chances to finish their regional semifinal.

The game will be picked up today at 5:00 p.m. in the bottom of the 6th in a 0-0 game.

You can listen to the remainder of the contest on KILJ FM 105.5 and kilj.com.

Nathan Bloechl will have the call.

Anna Anderson will be the batter with the go-ahead run, Carlee Sloan, at third base to begin the restart.

The winner of this game will move into Tuesday’s region final for a chance to play for a berth into the 2021 State Tournament.

That game will be played in Lisbon against Lisbon High School.
