Prep Volleyball: Notre Dame, Holy Trinity, New London Headline Winners

KILJ — No. 1 Notre Dame rolled to four sweep victories in four matches as they were able to sink the WACO pool and advance to Saturday nights Southeast Iowa Super Conference semifinals.

Gabby Deery drilled 24 kills for the Nikes who took down Mediapolis, WACO, Pekin and Cardinal.

Mediapolis finished second in the WACO pool, going 3-1.

The Bullettes also advance to Saturday’s bracket style tournament, which will be played at SCC.

In the Louisa-Muscatine pool, No. 7 (3A) West Burlington took down the host, Winfield-Mount Union and Van Buren County cruising easily into Saturday’s bracket.

The Lady Falcons are now 17-1.

Winfield-Mount Union placed second in the pool beating Van Buren County and Louisa-Muscatine.

The Lady Wolves upped their ledger to 14-7.

At Wapello, No. 5 (1A) Holy Trinity rolled past all four teams to win the pool and advance to Saturday.

The Crusaders picked up wins over Wapello, Danville, Hillcrest Academy and Lone Tree.

Wapello went 3-1, the Arrows lone loss of course to Holy Trinity.

Danville finished 2-2.

New London went 3-0 at their home pool.

The Tigers swept Columbus, Highland and Central Lee.

Central Lee was the pool runner-up finishing 2-1.

The bracket round again will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Southeastern Community College in Burlington.
