Prep Wrestling: Busy Thursday of Action

KILJ — It will be a busy night of wrestling tonight with several area programs returning to the mat.

Starting in Fort Madison, the Bloodhounds will host Mount Pleasant and Mid-Prairie in a triangular.

Wrestling will get underway at 6:00 p.m. at the HoundDome.

In the Super Conference, No. 4 Notre Dame will travel to Wapello along with Columbus Community/Winfield-Mount Union for a conference triangular.

They’ll begin grappling at 6:00 p.m.

WACO will be on the road as well.

The Warriors, off to a nice start in 2021, will bus to Keosauqua for a Super Conference quadrangular with Louisa-Muscatine and Pekin and of course host Van Buren County.

Meanwhile in Mediapolis, New London and Cardinal will travel over for a Super Conference triangular.

If things break right, there could be a showdown of top-ranked wrestlers there tonight with Mediapolis No. 3 Quinten Aney and New London’s No. 1 Marcel Lopez, a recent commit to SIU-Edwardsville.

Similar to other sites, they’ll start at 6:00 p.m. this evening.
