Prep Wrestling: Panthers 0-3 at North Mahaska; Other Dual Results

KILJ — The Mount Pleasant wrestling team went 0-3 yesterday with losses to Iowa Valley, Sigourney-Keota and North Mahaska in New Sharon.

Bowen Davis was on fire for the Panthers despite the trio of dual losses.

Davis, wrestling at 138-pounds, earned two fall victories and a major decision. Gannon McNamee also won three matches, McNamee picked up two falls and a forfeit.

Carson Coleman picked up two decision wins and a fall, as well.

Columbus-WMU, WACO Each Pick Up One Dual Win

Columbus-Winfield Mount-Union edged Washington 33-30, while WACO defeated Columbus 37-33 at yesterday’s Washington quadrangular.

Second-ranked 120-pounder Lane Scorpil paced the Wildcats with three fall victories. Ty Scorpil, wrestling at 113, picked up two fall victories.

WACO was led by their terrific ranked duo of Jonah Clark, who at 220, pinned all three of his opponents. No. 10 Louiden Huisenga, a freshman, continued his outstanding season with two fall wins and a forfeit.

Fort Madison won the quad by going 3-0 in their three duals.

Mediapolis Earns One Win in Fairfield Triangular

Mediapolis bested Keokuk 48-36 as their lone win at yesterday’s triangular at Fairfield High School.

The Bulldogs saw their top-ranked 145 pounder Quinten Aney have another strong night.

Aney won both of his matches by fall.

160-pounder Levi Arnold did as well.
