The National Weather Service says a line of storms is forecast to move across the region Thursday night into early Friday morning. Some of those storms could become severe, bringing damaging winds as the primary threat, along with the possibility of isolated tornadoes.

The most likely timing for the strongest storms is between 11 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, when many people will be sleeping. Officials encourage you to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts overnight, including weather radios or cell phone notifications.

Heavy rain and lightning may also accompany the storms, and gusty winds could lead to downed tree limbs or power outages in some areas.
