High School Postseason Baseball
In Class 1A Substate 6, Burlington Notre Dame will host Moravia for the District 11 championship tomorrow, July 13th, at 7 pm. KILJ 105.5 FM, kilj.com, will be on the call with the pregame show at 6:45 pm.
BGM and Sigourney will play tomorrow at 7 pm for the District 12 championship.
In Class 2A Substate 5, Mediapolis will travel to Anamosa tomorrow at 7 pm.
In Class 3A Substate 5, Mt. Pleasant will host Fort Madison tonight at 7 pm. KILJ 105.5 FM, kilj.com, will be on the call with the pregame show at 6:45 pm.
Washington will travel to Central DeWitt tonight at 7 pm.
Fairfield will host Keokuk tonight at 7 pm.
In Class 4A Substate 8, Burlington will compete against Davenport North at 7 pm tonight on the road.
High School Postseason Softball
For Class 1A Region 6, Holy Trinity Catholic will face off against Twin Cedars tonight at 7 pm on the road.
In Class 3A Region 3, Fairfield lost to Albia last night 15-0. The Trojans finished the season with a 10-26 record.
Class 3A Region 8, West Burlington clobbered Mediapolis last night 14-2. Payton Harris slugged a double and tabbed an RBI along with Delaney Griffith for the Bulldogs. Mediapolis finished the season with a 10-11 record.
Central Lee handled Camanche last night 8-0.
Washington shut down Midland last night 10-0. Isabella Salazar tallied three RBIs and pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only three hits and striking out four.
The Demons will host Central Lee tomorrow, July 13th, at 7 pm with the winner advancing to the regional championship.
In Class 4A Region 5, Fort Madison’s electric offense pulled off the upset against Keokuk last night, winning 18-7. The Chiefs finished the season with an 11-19 record.
Fort Madison advanced to the regional semifinals to take on Xavier tomorrow at 7 pm on the road.
For Class 4A Region 8, Mt. Pleasant traveled to Central DeWitt last night and fell to the Sabers 15-2. The Panthers struck in the fourth inning after a lead off double by Emma Starr led to an RBI single for Macy Jones and Izzy Sloat two at-bats later to cut the lead to three, 5 to 2. Nevertheless, a two-run home run by Isabelle Pierce led to a 10 run inning to end the game early. The Panthers finished the season with a 3-28 record.
Burlington will host Central DeWitt tomorrow night at 7 pm with the winner advancing to the regional championship.
High School Cross Country
Mt. Pleasant’s optional summer runs, available for 7th through 12th graders, are scheduled Monday through Thursday. The runs will often be led by upperclassmen as coaches may not be present for every run.
On Mondays and Wednesdays the runs will start at 6:30 am at the Old Threshers Museum Theatre and on Tuesdays and Thursdays they will be at Saunders Park by the swimming pool at 7 pm.

Prospect League
The Burlington Bees gave the home crowd a thrilling finish to the game last night with a bases loaded hit by pitch taken by Jace Figuereo to take a 5-4 win over the Thrillville Thrillbillies. Cedric Dunnwald cracked a two-run home run, while Nick Meyer led the team with two RBIs. The Bees will travel to face off against the Alton River Dragons tonight at 6:35 pm.
The Clinton LumberKings trounced the Normal CornBelters last night 9-1. Jalen Martinez slammed a home run to finish the night with two RBIs along with Chase Womack. The LumberKings will resume their matchup against the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp tonight with the game tied at 0 in the bottom of the 3rd inning. The two will play a full game after.
