A Van Buren County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of a disturbance involving gunshots in the 200 block of Coal Street in Milton at about 11:30pm last night (Thursday, 2/5/26). According to the press release, witnesses reported two vehicles in town driving recklessly, followed by gun fire. It was later determined that 19-year-old Kasey Noel McClure did discharge a handgun in a reckless manner. Witnesses also reported that the defendant pointed the firearm upward and discharged two rounds during an argument with another individual. No injuries were reported, nor was there any property damage. McClure was arrested and charged with Reckless Use of a firearm. He is in custody awaiting an initial court appearance. *A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and defendants are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
