Veva Marie (Booten) Moehn

Veva Marie (Booten) Moehn passed away February 11, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 91. She was born on October 11, 1934, in Gulfport, Illinois. Veva graduated from Stronghurst High School in Illinois. She worked at Sylvania Electric before starting her career in banking. Through the years she worked her way up from secretary to Assistant Vice President at Plaza State Bank in Des Moines, Iowa. After retirement she moved to North Carolina for twenty years where her daughter, Lisa and family lived. Her final eight years were spent in Omaha, Nebraska close to son Jeff and family. Her family was the most important and cherished part of her life.

Veva loved to paint and make special gifts for her family and friends. She was a crafter and collector at heart. Veva’s other great love was for animals.  She was never without a dog in her life and would fly to see family with dog in tow! Veva loved to shop and always dressed nicely and looked amazing.  As a young mother she made clothes for her four children and herself. Veva was an avid bowler and earned many trophies.

Veva was proceeded in death by her parents: Harold and Marie Booten; sister: Connie Savage, and son: Randy Moehn.

She is survived by her sons: Greg Moehn, Jeff (Lori) Moehn; daughter: Lisa (Scott) Butterfield; brother: Robert (MaryAnn) Booten; sisters: Ruth Booten, Bonnie Doom; granddaughters: Chelsea (Dillon) Hansen, Cailie Moehn, Emily Moehn, Jessa Butterfield, and Lilli Butterfield and her lifelong friend: Laura Coates.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Veva will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point, Iowa, with Father Dan Dorau as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
