On March 18, at 5:56 PM the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, took a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 78, 150th Street, and Oasis Avenue.
During investigation it was found that Leon Peterson, 70 years of age, of Winfield; failed to stop at the stop sign on Oasis Avenue and struck the passenger side of a vehicle of Jennifer Sloan, 46 years of age, of Winfield; who was driving on Highway 78. Peterson’s vehicle continued through the crash, damaging a farm fence.
No injuries were reported from this accident.
The Iowa State Patrol assisted and found that Peterson was operating his motor vehicle while intoxicated. All criminal charges were filed by the Iowa State Patrol.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted Winfield First Responders and Henry County EMS.
