Weekly Fuel Report – July 29, 2026

Here’s your weekly fuel report for Southeast Iowa and across the nation.

As of this afternoon, Wednesday July 29th, regular unleaded gasoline in Mount Pleasant was averaging about $3.53 per gallon, based on local prices.

According to the AAA weekly fuel report and the Iowa Department of Agriculture, the statewide average for regular unleaded is $3.75 per gallon, down five cents from last week. However, the Iowa average is still 83 cents higher than it was a year ago.

The national average Wednesday was $4.09 per gallon, up three cents from last week. That puts Mount Pleasant about 22 cents below the current Iowa average.

Meanwhile, Iowa diesel prices increased 12 cents this week, with the statewide average now at $4.97 per gallon. That’s 36 cents below the national diesel average of $5.33.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture reports that West Texas Intermediate crude oil fell $1.78 this week to $84.98 per barrel, while Brent crude dropped $3.34 to $90.53.
