Postage Costs Increasing Sunday, July 12th

If you’re planning to mail a letter next week, be prepared to pay a little more.

The United States Postal Service is raising postage rates beginning Sunday after the increases were approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission.

The price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp will increase four cents, from 78 cents to 82 cents. It’s the eighth stamp price increase since 2021, when a Forever stamp cost 58 cents.

Several other mailing services are also seeing higher prices. Domestic postcards will increase from 61 to 65 cents, metered letters will rise from 74 to 78 cents, and international letters and postcards will go from one dollar and 70 cents to one dollar and 75 cents.

Postal officials say the rate changes are part of ongoing efforts to improve the financial stability of the U.S. Postal Service.
