Washington Man Faces Felony Charges Following Alleged Firearm Threat

A Washington man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening two people with a handgun.

Orbie Brown, 62, of Washington, was arrested July 2 following an investigation into a June 30 disturbance in the 700 block of East Main Street.

Court documents allege Brown possessed a handgun and caused a woman to believe he intended to shoot her and her mother.

Brown is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm as a felon, both Class D felonies. He also faces two counts of first-degree harassment and one count of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, all aggravated misdemeanors.

Brown remains in the Washington County Jail on a $16,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for Friday, August 28, at the Washington County Courthouse.

The charges are accusations, and Brown is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
