Prep Softball- The Southeast Iowa Super Conference (SEISC) has been knocked out of postseason contention after Highland’s narrow 4-2 loss to Clarksville in Regional Championship. Now, it is time to reveal the All-SEISC teams for the 2026 campaign.
North Division
Player of the Year
Louisa-Muscatine had their state tournament hopes dashed in the Regional Championship Monday night, but the Falcons still turned in a 28-7 record for the season and finished second behind Highland in the conference standings. A big reason for that success was Grace Kissell.
The sophomore turned in a slash line of 0.442/0.540/0.538 at the plate, which all ranked in the top 12 for the North Division. Where Kissell exceled was getting on base and then stealing bags, as her 28 steals were tops in the North leading to a division leading 45 runs scored.
Coach of the Year
Highland’s Carrie Wieland earned this award after leading the Huskies to a conference crown and one game away from the state tournament. Highland was a team to fear throughout the season, as they were ranked throughout most of the campaign.
Wapello
The Arrows finished the season with a 12-14 record and in 4th in the North standings, landing three players on the First Team. Quinn Zweibohmer landed a spot as a pitcher, touting the 8th best ERA in Class 2A with a 1.74, complemented by 158 strikeouts and seven wins in the circle.
Macey Kuntz was named First Team Infielder as the junior slashed a line of 0.352/0.432/0.507. Her 15 RBIs ranked third on the team, as she clouted five doubles and two home runs for the season.
Erica Gillette had a fantastic all-around season, batted 0.333 with more walks than strikeouts, stole 14 bases on 16 attempts, and turned in a fielding percentage of 0.987 on 225, which ranked 2nd in the North Division.
Paisley Shafer (8th) and Ellasyn Kuntz (FR) were each named Honorable Mentions.
Columbus
The Wildcats put a pair on the Second Team with Audrey Hoback (SR) being named as an Infielder and Kaylee McCullough nabbing a spot in the Outfield. Hoback slammed the team’s only home run on a 0.341 batting average, while McCullough led the team with 14 RBIs.
Daniela Diaz (SR) and Iris Garza (JR) were put on the Honorable Mention list.
WACO
Natalie Wagler, who helped lead the squad to their first win since 2016, was the lone member from the Warriors to be place on Second Team. Wagler was 24th in the North Division in batting average and contributed two doubles, a triple, and three RBIs to the Warriors.
Mei Leichty (JR) and Kaylan Willits (JR) were each named Honorable Mentions.

South Division
It was a three-way tie atop the South Division with Holy Trinity Catholic, Mediapolis, and Central Lee. It was the Crusaders’ first ever conference title as their 23 wins also broke a program record.
Player of the Year
It was a tight race for Player of the Year honors amongst the best hitters and pitchers from the South Division, but Central Lee’s Kenna Sandoval earned the honor for her senior season. The Hawk has been an every day starter for the last five years, finishing her career with 36 home runs and 171 RBIs.
Her senior campaign was business as usual with a slash line of 0.510/0.603/0.960 for 12 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, and 38 RBIs. She also added 26 steals on the basepath. The talented senior will be attending Iowa Western to continue her softball career.
Coach of the Year
New London/Winfield-Mt. Union had won only three games the first year they combined and this year turned in a 14-14 record and finished in just two games back of a three-way tie for 1st place in the South Division. This 11-win improvement meant that Emily Parks was going to get to take home Coach of the Year honors.
Holy Trinity Catholic
As one of the teams that finished on top of the conference standings, Crusaders flooded the First and Second Team honors. Sydney Jarvis, who looks to enter next season as the favorite to win Player of the Year, was phenomenal in the circle.
Jarvis finished 1st in the South Division in wins (19) and opponent batting average (0.182), and 2nd in strikeouts (133) and earned run average (1.83). She also led the conference in batting average (0.573) and doubles (17).
Earning First Team Catcher was just a freshman, Cadyn Holmes. The freshman was an excellent foil to Jarvis, as Holmes touted the 4th best batting average in the division and produced the third most RBIs at 34.
Kenna Gittings was selected First Team Outfield, while Alivia Holmes made it for First Team Utility. Holmes and Gittings finished 6th and 7th, respectively, in the division for batting average. Holmes had a bigger pop to the bat with eight doubles and 20 RBIs, but Gittings got around for three triples.
Elle Hellman was named Second Team Catcher. The junior threw out five runners trying to steal. Kara Lake made the Second Team as a member of the Outfield behind a 0.417 batting average, and Makayla Simpson found a spot on the Second Team as a Utility, as she turned in a fielding percentage of 0.961 with the 27th most total chances in the division.
Morgan Krogmeier and Izzy Behne were named Honorable Mentions.
Mediapolis
Payton Harris would also like a word about being the favorite to win the Player of the Year award next year. The two-way player turned in a First Team performance from inside the ring, submitting the best ERA in the division (1.68) and the 3rd most wins (11).
She would often help out her cause at the plate with a slash line of 0.494/0.548/1.149. Her 16 home runs are tied for 9th most in the state, while her slugging percentage ranks 12th.
Delaney Griffith was one of the best defensive catchers in the division. Her 0.992 fielding percentage, equating to just one error on the season, meant there were not many free passes when opponents took on the Bullettes.
As a member of the First Team Infield, Kenna Jackowski managed a 0.305 batting average and knocked in 14 runs for the year, while scoring 27 herself. First Team Outfielder Maycie Thornburg finisher her senior campaign with a 0.288 batting average, three doubles, and 10 RBIs.
Making the Second Team was Avery Crear (Infield) and Avery Bandy (Outfield) with Honorable Mentions Layne Price and Maddy Carter.
Central Lee
Joining Sandoval on the First Team was 8th grader McKenna Fransk as a Catcher, Olivia Day in the Infield, and Jali Hawk in the Outfield. Fransk hit 0.293 in her first year with the Hawks, swatting a home for 13 RBIs. Along with catching six base runners from behind the plate. Day managed to 0.347 at the plate with 19 RBIs, while Hawk added eight RBIs.
Elaina Barlow was named Second Team Pitcher, as she turned in a 3.94 ERA. Aubree Bunnell was Second Team Infield, while Brylee Cook was place on Second Team Outfield.
Macy Butler and Rayleigh Burden were made Honorable Mentions.
New London
Quin Smith had herself an impressive all-around senior season, concluding with a First Team Infield nod. Coach Parks mentioned Smith’s quick hands resulting in some easy power for the senior. The evidence is in a 0.606 slugging percentage, propped up by four doubles and four home runs for 14 RBIs.
Kylea Schwenker had the disservice of playing in a talented laden position, as she named Second Team Pitcher. To go along with her 0.338 batting average, Schwenker’s 2.77 ERA ranked 4th in the division, her 138 strikeouts led the division, her 12 wins ranked 2nd in the division along with her opponent batting average.
Joining her on the Second Team was Katie Miller (Infield) and Jayda Nichols (Outfield).
Megan Lee and Ruby Myers were named as Honorable Mentions.
West Burlington-Notre Dame
Lacie Felkins (Outfield) and Madelyn Thomas (Utility) have been playing for the Falcons since they were 8th graders, so it only feels right that they finish their careers with First Team nods.
Thomas fires 115 strikeouts from the circle and clobbered seven home runs for 31 RBIs at the plate. Felkins was a reliable glove that also hit 0.317 at the plate.
Paige Kramer added 13 RBIs and a 0.316 average, as she was named Second Team Catcher. Whitney Snowden and Tannisyn Christofferson were put on the Second Team for Infield. Orayana Gonzales earned Second Team Outfield and Adley Mundth was Second Team Utility.
Faith Gibb and Chloee Anderson claimed Honorable Mention.
Van Buren County
Ashlynn Huff has been a staple for the Warriors the last half decade as she took home First Team Infield. Huff supplied an elite glove at the middle positions and a bat that went for 0.389 this season with 20 RBIs.
Kayley Snowgren claimed First Team Outfield, while Rylee Caviness took home First Team Utility. Snowgren slashed four doubles and a triple for nine RBIs, while Caviness led the division with 13 runners caught stealing from the catcher position.
Elli Daugherty was place on the Second Team for Outfielder and Lexie Wiley took home Second Team Utility in her senior season.
Teagan Sickels and Aida Troutman each found a spot on the Honorable Mention list.
Danville
Head coach Makenzie Morris said after the Bears beat New London in the first round of the regional that you could always count on Elizabeth Jensen at the plate. The conference agreed, as she was named First Team Utility. Jensen slashed a line of 0.457/0.500/0.714 with five home runs and 25 RBIs, including a home run against the Tigers.
Brynley Wenig is following in the Wenig footsteps in the athletic world, as she earned First Team Infield. She turned in a 0.391 batting average to go along with six doubles, four home runs, and 15 RBIs. Along with those numbers, she collected seven wins in the circle and the 3rd best ERA of the division at 1.84.
Aubrey Nahorny and Hadley Heuvelmann were named Honorable Mentions.
