Prep Softball: New London Falls in Slugfest, Central Lee Wins

Holy Trinity 10, New London 8 

Marah Hartrick homered and drove in three but it was not enough as Holy Trinity outlasted New London 10-8 in a Super Conference slugfest at Holy Trinity last night.

Elly Manning, Ashlyn McSorely and Sophie Malott each had two hit nights for the Tigers.

Haley Rohdy took the loss for New London.

Mary Hellige drove in three runs for the Crusaders, while pitching and earning the win in the circle as well.

New London fell to 4-20.

Holy Trinity improved to 5-9.

No. 4 (3A) West Burlington 10, Cardinal 0 

Freshman slugger Logan Kelly belted two home runs and a double, while driving in seven runs as No. 4 (3A) West Burlington rolled by Cardinal 10-0 last night.

Reagan Engberg and Lauren Krieger each had two hits for the Falcons.

Lauren Summers tossed a four-hit shutout.

She struck out 10.

West Burlington upped their mark 24-2.

Cardinal evened up at 10-10.

Central Lee 2, Van Buren 1 

Central Lee and Van Buren played neck and neck for eight innings, before Halo Arrowood singled in the game-winning run in walkoff fashion as the Lady Hawks snagged a 2-1 win last night in Donnellson.

Arrowood finished with three hits for Central Lee.

Sophia Turner picked up the win striking out four, pitching all eight innings.

Central Lee moved to 12-6.

Van Buren slipped to 17-5.
