Des Moines — Gabe Zurita scored twice, while Cole Ward finished with two assists as Burlington Notre Dame cruised to a 4-1 win over Waterloo Columbus Catholic in the quarterfinal round of the Boys’ Class 1A State Soccer tournament.
Caden Murphy made seven saves in the pipes for the Nikes who improved to 21-1 and moved into tomorrow’s semifinals.
There they will meet up with fourth-seeded Iowa City Regina who blanked Greene County 3-0.
The bottom of the bracket saw Western Christian get by North Fayette Valley 2-0, while West Liberty knocked off St. Albert 2-1.
