Just before 7:00 pm on July 11th, deputies responded to 400 High Street, Middletown, in reference to a burglary that had occurred. Video and evidence was provided by the victim, indicating a subject had come to their property and entered their residence without permission. Deputies developed a suspect for the crime, but the suspect was unknown to the victim.
At 2:00 pm on July 16th, deputies located the suspect and interviewed him in reference to the incident that had occurred five days prior. As a result, Francisco Perez, age 50, of Mount Pleasant, was placed under arrest and charged with Burglary 3rd degree (D Felony), Theft 5th degree (simple misdemeanor), and Trespass (simple misdemeanor). Perez was then transported to the Des Moines County Correctional Center.
