Danville City Council Meeting July 17th

 

  1. Call to order 6:00 p.m.

 

  1. Accept or amend the agenda.

 

  1. Open forum: A time set aside to receive comments from the public regarding city business.  The Mayor and City Council welcome comments from the public on any subject pertaining to City business, including items on this agenda.  You are asked to state your name and address for the record and to limit your remarks to five minutes in order that others may be given the opportunity to speak.  The Order of Business is at the discretion of the Chair.  No action will be taken.

 

  1. Discussion and action on the June 2023 Des Moines County Sheriff’s report.

 

  1. Mark & Barb Fedler, North Main Street, to discuss the possibility of relocating a street sign on North First Avenue, on the back side of their property. Action if needed.

 

  1. Discussion and action on Resolution 2023-15, making a correction to Resolution 2023-14.

 

  1. Fire Chief/Building Inspector report
  2. Review of Unsafe Building report – action by council if needed.
  3. Approval, if needed, of building permits and/or report as presented.

 

  1. City Electrician report.
  2. Approval of report if needed.

 

  1. Public Works written report.
  2. Review of proposals received from Bates Inc. and Jackson Concrete for street repair work.  Action if needed.
  3. Approval of the written report of July 3 and July 17 as presented.

 

  1. Approval of consent agenda.
  2. Council minutes of June 19, 2023.
  3. May 2023 and June 2023 financial reports.
  4. Payment of bills.

  1. Closed session with Ryan Gerling, City Attorney.
  2. Action to go into closed session per Iowa Code 21.5(1)( j) to discuss the purchase or sale of particular real estate only where premature disclosure could be reasonably expected to increase the price the governmental body would have to pay for that property or reduce the price the governmental body would receive for that property.
  3. Action to come out of closed session.
  4. Statement by City Attorney if needed.
  5. Action by Council if anything from the closed session is needed.

 

  1. Council reports and correspondence.
  2. Setting the procedure for doing the grant survey.  Action by council if needed.
  3. Review of letter received from the City of Burlington regarding Animal Shetler costs.  Action if needed.
