St. Louis — Iowa Wesleyan split a pair of games with Harris-Stowe yesterday, falling in game one 10-8 while winning 4-2 in game two.
Freshman right-hander Javier Rivera took the loss in game one, yielding three runs on four hits and six walks over three innings.
Riley Rankin had two hits for the Tigers, while junior infielder Froymer Ortega drove in a pair of runs.
Former Mount Pleasant standout Corbin Broeker scored a run for Wesleyan in game one.
In the second tilt, Luis Ayesa twirled five innings of two run ball, propelling the Tigers to the 4-2 win.
Stephen Larson worked around a hit and two walks in the final two innings to earn the save.
Jackson Van Roekel had two hits and two runs batted in to lead the Wesleyan offense.
The split moved the Tigers to 7-18 on the year.
They’ll take on St. Thomas and Mount Mercy today in Cedar Rapids.
