College Basketball: Iowa State is Sweet, Upsets Wisconsin

Milwaukee — A year after finishing 2-22, Iowa State is dancing into the Sweet 16.

22 points from Gabe Kalscheur propelled the Cyclones to an ugly 54-49 win over third-seeded Wisconsin yesterday in Milwaukee.

Iowa State will take on No. 10 seeded Miami (FL.) on Friday at 9:00 p.m. in the Sweet 16.

It’s Iowa State’s first appearance in the regional semifinals since 2016.

Johnny Davis finished with 17 for Wisconsin, along with nine rebounds and four blocks.

Iowa State improved to 22-12.

Wisconsin closed their season 25-8.
