Iowa City — Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says his No. 18 ranked Hawkeyes face a big challenge in Saturday’s opener.
The Hawkeyes host the No. 17 ranked Indiana Hoosiers — a program has made major progress under Tom Allen.
“They’re a really well coached football team, in all areas. They’ve played extremely well and have had two really successful seasons since bringing in Tom Allen. We are going to see a really good football team on Saturday. We know that.” Ferentz said.
Ferentz says starting with a Big Ten foe will let the Hawkeyes know where they stand, especially with the Hoosiers getting back All-Conference talent Michael Penix Jr., who returns after having his season cut short due to an ACL injury.
