Des Moines — Former Mount Pleasant standout Sam Beatty has finished tied for third at today’s college portion of the Drake Relays in Des Moines.
Beatty, competing now at Central College, jumped 6 feet, 6 3/4 inches which tied him with four other jumpers.
Beatty was a multi-time state qualifier at Mount Pleasant and also competes on the Central College basketball team.
Midland University freshman Shandon Reitzell won the event with leap of 6 feet, 11 1/2 inches.
