Driver Arrested for OWI by Fairfield After Traveling 104 MPH on HWY 34

A driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated after a deputy clocked a vehicle traveling 104 miles per hour near Fairfield.

The deputy observed the vehicle eastbound on Highway 34 just west of Fairfield at approximately 10:45 Friday morning. The vehicle continued into Fairfield, where the deputy conducted a traffic stop.

Following an investigation, the driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. The driver’s name was not released.

Law enforcement reminds motorists that excessive speed and impaired driving are each dangerous. Combining the two creates an extreme risk for everyone on the road.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
