It appears that a historical site was unfortunately destroyed in an early morning fire on Friday. Residents of Lockridge may have awoken to the site of flames coming from the historical Lockridge Hotel, built in 1886. Firefighters with Lockridge Fire and Rescue arrived on scene around 2:30 a.m. and fought the fire for 7 hours until clearing the scene at 9:30 am. They were assisted by the Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant Fire Departments.
Reports suggest that the hotel is destroyed.
