Henry County Public Health’s immunization clinics will be closed for the remainder of this week due to refrigerator repairs. All vaccines have been safely transported to an alternative storage facility to maintain proper storage conditions while repairs are completed. Regular immunization clinic services are expected to resume once the repairs are finished. For questions, please contact Henry County Public Health at 319-385-0779.

Impact Life Community Blood Drive- ImpactLife will host a community blood drive on 07/01/2026 from 3:30-6pm at The Agency Community Center, Brighton City Hall, and Winfield Veterans Community Building. Donating blood is a simple way to help ensure local hospitals have the lifesaving blood products they need for patients facing surgery, cancer treatments, traumatic injuries, and other medical emergencies. Eligible donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment or walk in if space allows. Every donation can help save lives throughout the region. Click the link to register:

Celebrate 250 Years of America- Bring your family and invite your friends to celebrate God, country, and the freedoms we enjoy together as one nation and one people at Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant! Join your community for free, starting at 5:30 pm for a night of fun including live music, a car show, food trucks, giant inflatables, give aways and a chance to drive a tractor! Stick around for a fireworks show at dusk, and to hear the inspiring message of Pastor Rob McCoy, a bold voice for faith, freedom, and the next generation. Come celebrate the birthday of America with pride for free at 1302 East Washington Street in Mount Pleasant!

As part of the Morning Sun Fourth of July Celebration, the community is invited to enjoy the “Stitched with Love” Quilt Showcase and Open House at the Morning Sun United Methodist Church from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., offering an evening to celebrate the artistry, creativity, and tradition of quilting. Everyone is welcome. The official Quilt Show will take place on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will close before the parade. While visiting the quilt show, be sure to enter the Fourth of July Quilt Raffle for a chance to win a handmade patriotic quilt. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10, with all proceeds supporting the Morning Sun Fourth of July Celebration. The drawing will be held July 4, and you do not need to be present to win. Visitors can also enjoy a hot dog meal for a free-will donation, with proceeds benefiting the community celebration.
