Absentee/Early voting is taking place in the second floor conference room at the Henry County Court House. Today’s voting hours will be from 8 am to 5 pm.

This is the last day for the Scholastic Book Fair at the Mount Pleasant elementary schools and the middle school.  Fair hours are 8 am to noon.

This is the deadline for Veterans to register for the free dinner at the Faith Lutheran Church in Mount Pleasant on November 6. There is no cost for a veteran and a guest to attend. Call 319-385-8427. A Cappella will perform that evening.  Dine in begins at 5:30 pm.  Drive thru will be available from 5 to 5:30 pm.

Friends of Henry County Health Center invites the public to attend the Annual Fall Soup Supper from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.For a free will offering, the evening’s menu offers chili soup, chicken noodle soup, or baked potato bar, relish, crackers, dessert and drink. Take out is available. The event is sponsored by Friends of HCHC, and proceeds from the Soup Supper benefit the Friends of HCHC Healthcare Scholarship Fund.

The Villages Folk School will host the annual Bottomless Bowls Soup Supper from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Stone House in Bentonsport. There is a suggested donation of $25 for a handmade bowel, all you can eat soup, homemade bread, dessert and a drink.  There is also the disposable option for a good will offering.  100% of the proceeds benefit the Villages Folk School.

Jingle, Jingle, Mix and Mingle will be held in the Mount Pleasant downtown from 5 to 7 pm.  Everyone is invited to enjoy this Holiday Open house and Wine Walk.
