The New London Town-wide garage and yard sales are being held today.

St. Alphonsus Ladies of Charity rummage sale today in Manning Hall on South Jackson Street in Mount Pleasant from 9 am to noon.  Everything is 50 cents unless marked otherwise.

The Mount Pleasant city compost site is open from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturdays and 1 to 6 pm on Wednesdays.  The site is located on Yocum Lane behind Saunders Park.

Des Moines County Master Gardeners will hold their annual plant sale at the Des Moines County Extension Office (1700 W. Mt. Pleasant Street, West Burlington) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Patrons will find a wide variety of zone 5 plants suitable for full sun to full shade. Vegetable starts, perennials, annuals and houseplants will be available. All at competitive prices and with helpful advice from the Master Gardeners themselves.

There is a fundraiser for the WACO Foreign Exchange Student and for Ukraine at the WACO High School in Wayland frykyom 5 to 7 pm. For a free will donation enjoy varenyky, sausage, borscht, coleslaw, hashbrowns and fruit.

The USAF Band of Mid-America’s Shades of Blue jazz ensemble will present a concert at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center at 7:00 pm. The address for this event is 200 N Main St., Fairfield IA 52556. This is a family-friendly, all-ages event.
